Can some one clarify the "pin out" on the RX100 II hot shoe?

From the single picture I have found it appears to be "similar" to the Ricoh Caplio Gx100 (aka Sea & Sea DX1G) in that is has only a single X contact but also has another connector for an EVF (Electronic View Finder).

The single X contact would limit you to manual external flash only. So no TTL flash. But full manual will be available.

Is my understanding correct?

If so this is not really a "nauticam" issue?

Flash for RX100 II: Sony Cyber-shot Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

The pin in the middle is a live pin that goes off when you press the shutter. On the front side there is a full interface for ttl flash. The issue is not the triggering of the external flash that in fact works is that the live view on the LCD means a black screen if you don't have sufficient ambient light until you half press the shutter to focus. On the nex and a series you can disable live view on the rx100 you can't so thought the strobe will fire in all cases when you shoot f/8 or f/11 at close range you will have a black screen. You could in theory have a strong focus light to illuminate at least the centre of the frame but that could result in backscatter unless it has a auto off. More than anything with 4.4 second recycle time for a full flash and a strong battery you may prefer to have the LCD screen on and fire the internal flash as opposed to playing with a dark screen. It was not sure from nauticam to what extent they had tested and technically it works but it is not useable. The same bulkhead will work fine with nex and a cameras
