Normally I dive with a normal team and we are all on the same page.
Sometimes that doesn't work out and I wind up with new people. Most are willing to match conservatism to the lowest of the group. If they aren't willing to do that, they aren't somebody that would be of use to me on the bottom or doing deco.
I think Tracy runs a boat as do I. The above is a fairly easy and common occurrence. A lot of times it's less formal where the less conservative diver will volunteer (on the boat) to stop longer if needed during the dive.

Usually up to and including the 40' stop is fairly short and sometimes cleared ahead of time. The 30 and especially 20 you'll see some split if there's a significant delay.

AN DP levels you'll be single digit stops mostly until 20'/6m and that should be easy to get along with many people.
