I once did a drysuit dive to 90 feet without adding any air to the drysuit the entire dive....

It feels like someone has taken a handful of crumpled sandpaper...cups your assets in the middle and then applies ever increasing pressure......

I get terrible squeeze from an old wetsuit that is ever so slightly too short from crotch to neck. Has nothing to do with air, and everything to do with pain.

In a drysuit, I notice pain in the arms before anything, but my suit is long enough that there is some extra space in the crotch, while the arms are tighter. I add air before anything painful can happen, generally speaking.

If you neglect to put air in the Dry Suit, another option is to eat beans before the dive. This will usually correct this problem naturally.

Another suggestion: if you choose this route and have a back entry zipper on your suit, don't tell your buddy beforehand. He may be hesitant to open the zipper at the end of the dive. :)

I have experienced ball squeeze a few times, but only in a wetsuit. Typically I wear boardshorts in the tropics and just throw my wetsuit over the top. My wetsuit does a great job not allowing water to flow into it. Sometimes as I descend I can feel the pressure. The cure is to say "Owweeee!", while gently tugging on the wetsuit material in that area as I descend.

Even with my drysuit sucked down tight I have never experienced that problem.

An interesting argument for speedos as the garment of choice.

"How does one avoid this kind of squeezed?"

Well - there are certain kinds of operations..... - but they may not be covered by your medical insurance!!!
