I believe that the 5-6 hours is per battery set or per battery charge.
They have some technology that appears to hold the brightness up
rather than slowly dimming over the life of the battery like most flashlights.

The standard Q40 LED is 1 watt, and has a shorter bezel than the "plus" which has a two watt LED and a longer bezel. Having used both for diving, I prefer the plus, which is my standard backup light. If my primary light fails (also an LED), the backup is to get me safely back to the beach/boat. There are indications elsewhere on the board that an LED SL4 or SL6 is forthcoming from UK. I'm guessing it will use a 3 watt LED, but we'll have to wait and see.
