...Malaga Cove. At least the walk is easier as it is paved and not as steep/long. BUT its still a rocky entry. If you go here, make sure its high tide. It's VERY hard in low tide to navigate the slippery rocks with all your gear.

If you just keep following the path a ways, you can do a sand beach entry off of RAT (right after Torrance) beach and avoid the rocks. See http://www.sandeaters.org dive sites for more on Malaga Cove.

The weekend you are in town (Saturday and Sunday) is also the weekend for "Diver Days" at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. Get in free with your C-Card, and enjoy the aquarium and the special diving exhibits.

Pacific Wilderness in San Pedro http://www.pacificwilderness.com/ would be the closest to your hotel in San Pedro.

Rent your tanks the night before and you can be there when the gates open around 0800 a.m. and have a great day of diving.

Thanks for the store info, if we get back from our Yukon dives in time I will rent the night before I'm just not sure what the drive time will be on a friday afternoon.

The nice thing about California this time of year is it's the same temp as we are in Texas. The rest of the year your water is a big cool down from the Gulf. Thanks for the Aquarium info.
