Yikes, sorry to hear that, Brian! At least you got a decent dive out of it. Wish I could've made it on Sunday.

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up. We (me and Mykle/deadbilly) were at Lobos today, and the boat ramp is REALLY slippery right now - be especially careful at low tide.

I took a fairly gnarly spill on the way out after our dive, falling forward onto my chest. Everything would have been fine, except I pinned my light head between my chest and the concrete when I fell - OUCH. No major harm done to me, but not a pleasant experience (and I'm a little sore). While trying to get up, I brought Mykle down with me (he's okay too).

In case people are curious, the light was basically unscathed too. Fortunately it was my old "primary" (my new light is with Light Monkey at the moment), but yeah - totally fine. LED technology may have a ways to go to catch up with the 21w HID, but you can't beat the near indestructibility. :D

Oh yeah - the dive was actually pretty good. REALLY surgy, horrible vis in the cove, but nice vis at hole in the wall. Thanks to Sue/Rob and the fundies class for providing us with a nice downline, conveniently located right off the worm patch. :)

Glad you came our relatively unscathed.
Might I suggest bringing body pillows and sliding down the boat ramp for your entries next time

Oh my,

I was there with my partner and I video'd the ramp and we called the dive. We brought singles and I thought NO WAY would I enter with doubles.

It was all about the timing as we watched divers enter/exit and one diver lost her fin because of the commotion of the water.

I felt the enter/exit would be challanging and not worth it, so I passed as did my partner.

We stayed around to eat and enjoy the company and noticed that by the time Brian and his partner would enter, it would be low tide and even harder for enter/exit.

I am glad you didn't get hurt more than you did, I remember when you were once in singles when I was taking you out, I forgot to mention the steep drop off at the edge and you slide in and the boot of your tank took the damage and broke your fall.

That ramp is wicked when it wants to be.

My last doubles dive placed me in dire straits when I couldn't put my fins on and required assistance.

Anyway, hope that surge leaves and it calms down for next two Sundays, I have booked for Lobos diving.
