West, southwest Sri Lanka in Jan/Feb

Hello All,

can’t find any recent info for diving in Sri Lanka. Have an opportunity to visit there in Jan/Feb 2024 and would love to know the details for conditions, visibility, dive ops and what to expect from people who have been there.

I haven’t dived there since ‘96 and I don’t know how much the Tsunami changed it. We based ourselves in Hikkaduwa and there were definitely several operators there at the time and the diving was pretty good. We were there a few months, until the Western Monsoon set in. Never got bored. If you surf, take your board.

If you're into wrecks there is great wreck diving off colombo. I used Island scuba.
