What a difference a week makes.

Last week end we had to cancel the annual Peterborough Ice flow race due to too much ice! That's right there wasn't enough open water to run the race.

Today the river's open, the ice has broken up, and they are opening control dams due to risk of flooding.

Right now, were looking at doing the race on April 5 - almost 2 weeks later than the last 5 years. And we may end up cutting the race length as well if we don't get some serious thawing and breaking up soon....

However, I just returned from Florida, and it was nice to see the snow had dropped considerably from the time we left. Maybe spring is coming afterall......
