My Ussual Carry ons:

- Wet notes notebook
- Small led Flashlight
- A pocket mask (the kind used on mouth to mouth breathing).

Attached to my BCD:
- A small red flashing light on the back.
- A Dive alert horn attached to the power inflator.
- A whistle near my BC oral inflation valve.

That is what I always have on my bcd when diving. Other items may var depending of the dive.

Nothing because I don't have a stink'n BC"D". N

Haha, I've also carried rocks in my pockets and in my hands. In my pockets: back-up light, SMB, signal mirror, (whistle's on my BC oral inflator), pocket mask, and camera (attached to retractable lanyard but can conveniently slip into my pocket). Will also put trash I pick up off the bottom in my pockets, and extra lead when diving dry.

I like to swim fast and cover a lot of territory, so I travel as light as I can. I also believe that each piece of gear you carry slows you down and increases the probability of equipment failure.

I have two Oxycheq fold-up pockets on my waist belt, one on either side. I don't keep anything in them, I use them for treasures I find (shells, lead weights, gold doubloons). I carry shears on my belt but have never used them. On my D-rings I carry a whistle (never used) and a flashlight if I think I'll need it.

...I think I am the last diver in the world who still secures their dive knife on their calf.

You are not the last one (yet) :D . Big knife on my calf, smaller knife (or knives  ) on my waistbelt.

Best wishes.

No BCD pockets but I carry a Backup mask and wet notes in my right drysuit pocket and a DSMB preconnected to a 160' finger spool in my left.

How exactly does the gear I carry increase the probability of equipment failure?!:shakehead:

on July 26, 2008 I carried a flashlight, a dive slate, and engagement ring!!!
