What is the best month to see Whale sharks at Utila? My schedule is fairly flexible and I am looking forward to diving with them

Equally important- when are the best days in the months that are good?

Get your lunar phase website calucumolator thing ready....

Then, do what I do- stuff your bathing trunks with frozen shrimp. May + or -

Works every time. Jonny Knoxville showed me that trick!

do you EVER see them outside of those months steve (and the rest of you)?

i'd love to see them, but i am not so flexible time-wise....

Hi

Yes last year we saw Whale Sharks every month except for 1, we have seen them this week.

No the full moon does not seem to effect them here, yes in Belize it does but not here as they are not feeding on the same thing.

Steve (and all)... What's been your experience in regards to Full Moons? (Besides all of the howling on the streets of town, that is!)

LoL

Lots of Howling on the streets LOL

Ok What we have seen it a pattern of them appearing just after the no moon nights, yes we do see them at full moon but no more than any other time.

We have records for 2 years so this is not long enough to really do a study but at the moment it is a pattern that we have noticed.

thanks for the answer, and great that you are collecting data so consistently!

i'll aim to see them here in july when i come to utila (without getting my hopes up too high though...)
