Which Spring Straps?

There's a thread in the DIY somewhere on making your own. I have 2 sets of them and have never had any issues with them coming off/rolling around etc. I think they wound up costing me around $25 a set. I've used them for heavily for 7 years and I would guess I'll get another 5-10 years of heavy on them. I've worn out 2 sets of fins in that time.
 
I've been using bungees for several years now. They stay on, are easier to don/doff than spring straps and cost about a quarter.

How do you attach the bungies to the fins? Knots? Sewing? Or?

(Still using the plain flat rubber straps but open to options.)

I've been using this method for a few years, but my fiancee has hers simply looped through and cinched down with cable ties. I was concerned they would slip, but she has over 300 dives with them and they haven't slipped nor worn out yet. I usually replace the bungee every 200 dives or so but the next time I do, I will use the cable tie method.
