I, too am a brand new diver. I am very comfortable in the water and would love to join the "invasion". I just don't want to hold anyone back. My wife doesn not dive , but she enjoys snorkeling. erhaps this will be my first ocean experience.

I just booked my winter trip yesterday and I asked some of these same questions to the travel agent. I am not quite sure if it is the same in the U.S.as here in Canada, but My dive gear flys for free It falls under the same catagory as sporting equipment as golf clubs and ect... So I am aloud my dive gear ,2 suitcases and carry on I don't have a problem with checking my dive gear on a direct flight such as the one in Feb, But it will not be in a dive travel bag with logos all over it and LOCKED.Here are some silly questions....but I am interested. Being new to diving, it goes without saying that I am new to dive travel. How does that work?? I am guessing we are on our own for flights?? and airport transfers?? How about gear rentals?? With baggage fees anymore, I'd rather not check scuba gear. Please forgive my ignorance. The rates seem like a terrific deal. My wife would love to sit on the beach, do some shopping, and perhaps some snorkeling. I am a BRAND NEW PADI OW Diver, so any insight is greatly appreciated.
Perhaps next invasion we can combine the two. We would love to see the DNYers come dive with us!We have the DNY Invades Bonaire trip going @June 25-July 3,
