It takes serious cash to keep my be-u-tiful riiiiiide rollin'. I ain't takin' no jive bout no cash for the trip. Pay up sucka or start walkin'

In all seriousness, I do find it funny/sad that I can fill the boat and truck up with fuel while my buddy is standing right there and then he hands me a $20 and says "That covers my share. Right?" :bash:

In WA, I lived and dove off of my sailboat. Over here, it's a bit more effort to hook up with a dive buddy to get to dive sites, especially since I prefer to dive on the weekdays when it's less crowded.

That's why the offer's out there, it makes the side trip to Medford a little more attractive. Being carless and loving diving are not two things that go together well.

My buddy and I go to Cape Ann as often as we can on Sunday Mornings, early. I will PM you a few days prior to any trip if you want. I can go right by Medford on my way sort of with a 10 minute or so detour. You can pick up the tab at Dunkin we aint too fancy.

So far, my gas payout has always been around $20-30 since it's all been coastal diving with neither a boat to fill or trailer and launch.

Boats do kick up the price of things, that's for sure. Hauling takes mucho gas.

I couldn't do it too often, but I think I'll be taking you up on the offer this summer at least once

Checked out the decapod site, were you the one swimming with Poco?

Did you read the very poorly written report I put up on the site? It was an amazing experience. It's sad that he died but a solo beluga isn't a recipe for success.

I hear ya brother! When I trailer my boat for a Block Island weekend I drop $150 in gas total - for truck to tow as well as boat. I am upfront with my buddies on the costs when they ask should they choose to voluntarily help with expenses.

I look at it as fixed costs for the most part. I would have to pay the same $$ whether I take buddies or not so anything is nice. My buddies have all been generous with that so I am fortunate.
