Hi,

My name is natalia and I would like to know if any of you (by any chance) know how to arrange a job in a diving center(Asia, Africa or South America....Europe).
I am actually a CMAS* diver (plus some 20 additional dives including wreck diving, night diving etc...).
AS I just finished my studies in Paris and I dont have a lot of money to pay for a course :)) I would be able to work for 3 months or more and would like to a course for a divemaster.

Please help me!!! Even with good job prespectives I dont want to work in an office!!!

I know french and english, spanish and portugese (if it helps in any way)
Thanks in advance
Nat

Sorry I can't help with the job but I wanted to welcome you to the board.

Same here. Welcome to the board, congratulations on your studies, and best of luck with your career.

Actually, This operator is a friend of a friend. He's in the Canaries, teaches CMAS (I think!), and has a good reputation. I think that this is a husband/wife shop and that there's been a recent separation/divorce, so I don't know the status of the shop.

Hope it helps.

BTW - Did you set up your Profile, as suggested here: http://www.scubaboard.com/t60416.html I update mine after every trip.

:D

Interesting that your question made me reflect on something. I just posted an answer on another thread which asked if CMAS or PADI training is better and I answered CMAS.
On the other hand I was just thinking that there are probably less CMAS operators in the tropical resorts where the big bucks are to be made.
In general the Americans ruin many tourist places by overspending and over tipping but for somebody that wants to earn money as a DM/Instructor you really need to fall in line and get a PADI qualification to make the most of this situation.

WELCOME ON BOARD NATALIA
Here in Italy on diving magazines there are often adds where there are diving center looking for either DM or Instructors. I suppose in France is the same. So look into it…
Good luck

Good luck on your quest and welcome to Scubaboard!!
