Aarrghh! Hobson's choice: camping is obviously better in august, and it would be nice to actually see something at leo carillo, but after all max'x reports (and all the nudi pictures) I really want to dive at marineland!

what to do..... what to do......

yup, marineland it is!

Hmmm, if Marineland has construction, I would think there would be, ahem, 'temporary facilities'. I know there is a hose bib right at the exit, with running water, and the aformentioned Port-o-Jons, we may have something workable.

Do you know what the status is with the construction? I understood that the gate was getting opened later. They did change security companies when the property changed hands. The new company was not intially getting the gate open early, if at all. I have not heard if they are doing better or not.

Also I had heard that access might be restricted during part of the construction. But these are just rumors so far.

I don't know, but that is in reference to Marineland only.

We may decide on a different location as a place to gather and for the BBQ. We could simply drive to other dive spots from a "home base". For instance, if Vet's Park is used as the home base, then it might be nice to dive other spots during the day and end up with a night dive in Redondo Canyon. We could dive in alternate shifts, so that there is always someone around on a surface interval to watch our home base.
