I may actually make this one. I am planning to go to Avalon anyway on Saturday, so at the very least, I will stop by and say hello.

I just booked myself on the Friday, 12:15 pm boat from Catalina Landing to Avalon and the Sunday 7:30 pm boat from Avalon to Catalina Landing.

I waited too long and now the Dana Point boat is full :crying:

I'm hoofing it up to Downtown Long Beach to catch the boat at 0830 on Saturday and returning on Sunday at 1545.

If you're teetering on the edge of committment.... ("Go Friday? Go Saturday? Go Friday?"), plug this into the Decide-O-Matic:

The Fill station at the Dive park will be fully operational from 12 noon to 4 PM on Friday!!

They'll have tanks to rent (AL80, lp steel 72s and 60s), so you can even flip tanks faster and get more dives. Wooo-Hoooo!

And Jim's right-on: 3/4 moon oughta sweeten the evening. Of course, IMHO, night diving takes a complete back seat to the fine dining planned... but we might figure out a way to do both :D ... (5 PM sunset.)

Life Rocks!!

We'll be night diving on Friday for sure. Dinner rezzies at 8:00 at the Steakhouse will give us time for a slow night dive, then a return to the room for a clean up and relax.

We dine, we wine, we hang, then its off to the beach with a blanket, something chocolate from Gallaghers and a fine Port (I'll be schlepping the Port and a hand full of aperitif glasses) and some aged leaf (I'll also be mueling some leaf.) It will be a late night, but totally relaxing and mellow.

I plan on repeating this process on Saturday as well - except insert Via Portafino as the dining establishment. Another sandy wind down is in order.

Sunday diving on the King.

I'll have my D70 cam rig with me, so I'll be easy to recognize. I'll be the guy with the brain hurt from all the new learning going on.

Maybe a couple of Ports will be in order...

Life does rock, 'chica.

Saturday is getting close, and I have neither seen flying bacon or planets realigning (though Mars is really something in the night sky lately!).

So I'm booked on Saturday, 6:15 am boat from Long Beach to Avalon, returning Saturday night on the 7:30 pm boat. I'm thinking of delaying my return to the 11:15 pm boat so I can enjoy both a night dive and dinner. Are people planning a Saturday night dive?

I dove last Friday night at Casino Point, and the biolum was amazing!!!

I'd love to do a night dive on Sat, too. But we probably won't get back to Avalon until 7:00 PM-ish.. so that would mean skip dinner or dive. And honestly, I'd rather dine with the crew than night dive in the park again and eat late.

Others will likely be night diving, with darkness coming so early these days.

Hi Ray! I'm thinking that a sunset splash (5 to 5:15) would allow both a relaxing penumbral ramble around the park... AND fine dining opportunities around 8PM with the ScubaBoarders in Avalon. Conditions in the afternoon will tell us more at the time.

See you Saturday,
Claudette
