I just bought a new soft weight belt but I forgot to ask if it had any special care. At the moment the belt is drip-drying in my bathroom (read:bathroom= dive locker) and the weights have been extracted and rinsed and are in the shower. Am I supposed to do anything else to it?

My wife has a soft weight belt and depending on your exact materials you may find you don't want it dripping in your tub.

It gets a dunk rinse after each dive and is hung on a stand I built for hanging our belts.

One per week she breaks it dowwn, the belt is dried empty and the weight pouches are rinsed and left to drain and if time permits dry before setting the belt up again. If you rinse the pouches in a clean pail you may be surprised to see how much crap and free material end up in your water. The pouches drain/dry on an old refrigerator shelf on the garage floor in my gear locker "corner".
