I'v narrowed my reg choices down to either of these two regs. The difference in price between them isn't enough to be much of a factor for me.

I've been told that the Oceanic will easier to have serviced both here in ontario and worldwide. Is this true? (I'll be spending over a month in Thailand)

Most of my diving will be tropical but I eventually (once I get a drysuit) want to do more local diving (I will be doing some now in a wet suit)

I don't plan on doing any tec diving.

Which Reg would you get and why?

Also, is there a benefit (ie cheaper/easier for service) to getting an octo that is similar to your primary 2nd stage?

I ended up going with the Oceanic. Worldwide servicing considerations played a part, but a large factor was LDS having examples to show and discuss.
