Is this a good idea? I think I need to detune it to make it less likely to free flow as an octo. Or should I just save the money and use RX90 as an octo? The main reason I want a G250 is because, I'll be diving with a pony soon. So as soon as I get my pony, I'll use it with a MK20 or Mk2+. BTW, what the heck is G250 graphite?

Any suggestion?

It will work great as an octo. No need to have the tech detune it. Have him set it up just like a primary and use the adjustment knob to detune it and set the VIVA to MIN while it is not in someone's mouth.

This is really just a cost trade off. The G250 is great, and really R190's are nice too, maybe not quite as nice. If you already have a second G250 go ahead and use it.
