Didn't stay there but some friends who tried it believe that Shagra is better.

been there 3 times

lahami bay is one of the best resorts in egypt when it comes to diving. very spacious rooms 44mē, food above standard, quied place with large swimming pool. however, very remote. there is only sand arround this place.

diving is probably the best out of a hotel on the red sea coast. you have a house reef where you can walk to and dive any time.
house reef dives with a little boat further out on the reef
on top of that the daily boats. they reach out to the fury shoals which are part of the "south tours" 2 dives with a lunch in between makes a perfekt day.

not a real bargain but good price for what you get

Don't confuse this place with the Red Sea Safaris camp. This is a luxurious resort with mostly divers as guests, but also good to bring your non-diving family members.

I stayed there November 2010. Met some people who were coming there every year for more than 5 years. Great resort, relaxed boat-dives on Fury Shoals (some of the nicest reefs in the Red Sea).

Sure, it's a bit more expensive than other places. For good reasons: all supplies (and staff) have to come all the way from Hurghada and Cairo. Operating a resort is simply more expensive in the deep south.

I would surely recommend it.
