What conditions might be expected in the panhandle region, say, from Pensecola over to Destin. Interested in the Oriskany and the Destin jetty and other things. How has viz been, what water temps might be expected, sea conditons, what are the trends? If there are any locals who might have a feel for what to expect next week in terms of the questions above, thank you?

Water temps in the mid-upper 60s depending on depth. Visibility has been varying greatly with our variable weather conditions in Spring time. Winter and Spring are the most un-predictable times to dive the Gulf. Can be great, can be crap.

You can check NOAA bouys and predictions, but I wouldn't put any weight into their predictions until a day our or so, even then, don't be suprised if they're off :)

Like he said, a crapshoot.

I've been trying to get a dive in for a week or so but the weather and water don't want to cooperate. I even look at things on the web just before leaving for a dive - best not to be caught unaware.

SeaYoda, take cavern dude! All the cool kids are doing it :D

I think caverns are the only place there is clear water at the moment!
