The wife and I live all of 20 minutes from Dames Ferry Park on Lake Juliette.

We got permission to dive the lake this week, so this morning we headed out in anticipation of what could be.

Around 11 we arrived at the lake, and checked in. The staff knew who we were when we pulled up. They could not have been more friendly, and warned us about the rednecks and their boats. Obviously we had a dive flag, but that doesn't mean much so we were told. We were told there had been 2 accidents involving props and divers.

Since we had never been to Juliette before we were unsure where to head. One of the works said there was a diver at one of the campsites. My wife knocked on her door, and she gave us some great advice. Thank you Dee.

We geared up and headed in. Water temp at the surface was 82. The thermocline was around 15 feet, and it dropped to 69. Viz was between 3-5 feet. We saw alot of grass, and followed a heading due north. We saw a max depth of 34 feet. We must have been super noisy underwater because we didn't see a single fish. After 40 minutes we called the dive. As we headed in it started to rain and thunder. We packed our gear, and headed for some Chinese in Macon. The food was great, but the dive was less than stellar. However we got wet, and that in itself was fun.

Tomorrow we start our move to Tampa. Wonder if there anything down that way to dive.
