I'm teaching a 6 person spearfishing course, mostly for beginners, but it will include freeshaft training. (I've found freeshafting to be the fast track for new spearfishers to get experienced quickly.)

A few of my students already signed up have their own guns, but I will also have several guns available if not, and for students to demo.

The classroom session will be at the Clearwater Mac's Sports store on Tues Nov 5th at 7 pm.

The 3 tank dives will be Nov 8th on my 36' boat. Capt Jose' will be driving for us and also doing some shooting between our dives.

Students will start shooting targets and then quickly move to hogfish. Mangrove snapper will provide plenty of challenges and sometimes even nice gags have been speared during my classes.

More information and contacts are below.

Here's some of my past spearfishing students with fish they shot during training.

Have a couple spots left for this weeks course.

Nice!

Lousy weather cancelled the Gulf dives today, so we're looking at another date for later this month.

If anyone would like to join us I've got one spot open.

Here's some pics from this Thursday when we completed the 3 spearfishing dives for some of the guys.

52' to 62' with 20' visibility. Nice hogfish!

The smiles say it all!

Chad

I'm doing one more of these courses before the year is out.

The next Spearfishing Course classroom session is planned for Monday evening, Dec 7th, at 7pm at the Clearwater Mac's Sports store.

The course will be the same cost, but I'm breaking it into separate sessions:

$99.95 for the first half, the classroom /video session.

$99.95 for the second half, the 3 tank dive session on my 36' boat.

This way students will pay when they are able to make the next dive date.

I know this is a class and I would never 'swoop' a classmate for their first fish fresh out of class. But if you need a warm body to fill up some tank racks and finger point a shootable fish, I think there is plenty of local spearo's that will be glad to jump on a boat in shallow waters. Just a few days notice would stir the interest.

Most of us will admit that $99 for a 3 tanker is pretty dang cheap for the gulf side shallow trips. I can't make tons of trips, but post up when you have a trip going out. Lots of people read this section and want to dive, just need to show them how much fun it is!!.

Come on down toastman!

Here's Sundays private class with Matt and Lindsey.... notice the perfect conditions in the background!
