Well, that thread was surely very enlightening. I still use a paper logbook for identifying gear changes, dive profile, location, etc. I am switching from a Suunto Cobra and I do find that the Dive Manger software extrapolates more details from the computer than the dive log itself displays.

But, my Suunto Cobra is also air integrated so we are talking apples and oranges. The Dive Manager pulls gas statistics, which the Nitek 3 won't even have.

So, maybe not downloading to a computer is not such a bad thing for me, since I do keep a paper copy of my dives. I guess I can always "draw" the dive profile as shown on the Nitek 3 screen.
