areis epic downloading

I have the software downloaded and running on my desktop computer (with no problems) but it will not work for my laptop. My desktop it windows 7 64 bit and my laptop is vista 32 bit. It shows that the cable is there and when I start it says starting handshake then it says failed. I downloaded the software from the aeris web site and the driver for the 32 bit operation system.

Any help would be great. I am leaving for Cozumel on Oct 30 and would like to get this figured out
