I am trying to find more information about how these two wings compare to each other. There are many good reviews on the Mach V and I have seen good reviews for the Hog wings, but has anyone tried both? What are the pros and cons of each one?

I have only dove the hog wing as that is what I own, but I was up between the two of these when I bought the hog wing. The oxy wing is a little lower profile but the hog is a lot cheaper.

Oxycheq is a great wing (I own 3) and normally trouble free - BUT -

if you buy one get it from a dealer with a lot of clout with Oxycheq - like Scubatoys.
Oxycheq customer service is know to be awful (or worse).

Hi,

I have both. I personally prefer the Mach V, but I can't really quantify why.

It feels narrower, and looks like it has less bits picking out around the backplate. It generally feels more stable underwater.

That being said, my gf appears to have taken posession of the Mach V, and when I dive with a single tank, it's almost always with the Hog wing, and I haven't felt the need to get a second Mach V.

Both seem to work fine without an STA, although I normally use a mini-STA on the HOG so it's easier to switch between singles and doubles.

Cheers,

Pasc

Does one seem to be tougher than the other? Like being able to take more abuse.

Hog=excellent customer service, and a lifetime warranty on their wings. I use a 32# without a STA, and really enjoy it. Sorry, I haven't used the Mach.

I use the HOG and it feels just as durable as my Zeagle Ranger. I can't find anything to complain about it. Plus I got in new for 160 from dolphin scuba.

I don't treat my gear all that kindly, and the wing material is still in good condition on both.

The oxycheq wing has a bit of corrosion on the eyelets, but I've had it for about a year longer.

I'd go for the supplier that is more local and convenient for you, and has good customer support.

I have both also, I have around 300 dives on the Mach V, the fabric is faded but holding up very well. The Hog wing has about 30 dives on it. I like the Mach V the most because of the streamline profile.
IMO the Mach is worth the extra cash.
