how is diving on christmas at panama city?

i would like to go out somewhere near from fort worth, tx, panama city is not far. what i am concern is about the diving conditions during december, visibility, are de dive sites near? at which temperature is the water and what wet suit do you use 5 mil or 7 mil with hood and gloves?...

hope you can help me out...
 
Might as well dive the Flower Gardens. It will be cold either place. I suggest Cozumel or the area!! Can't drive there though, at least not easily!!
