All are welcome for a weekend of diving and camping fun!

Spring Fool's Megadive 2012
March 30th, 31st and April 1st 2012

Come for 1 day or the whole weekend.

All are welcome. This event is open to all dive levels, newbie OW, all the way to full cave certification. If you don't have a buddy, don't worry, there are a bunch of us and there's always someone ready for a dive! Diving is set at your own pace, when and where you want in between eating and sleeping. The only dive that is a scheduled dive will be the galaxy dive around dusk on Sat. evening. As it is a family event, there are plenty of non divers and kids too.

Ginnie Springs has a full service dive shop and a pretty nice little store.
They also rent canoes, kayaks and tubes for use on the river.
Check out their website below for further info, park maps and directions.
Florida Staycation vacation place for scuba diving & Florida ecotourism
Or give them a call at Ginnie Springs Outdoors 1-386-454-7188

When you get to Ginnie Springs, you'll need to check in the Main Office, tell them you are with the ScubaBoard group as we get a 10% discount. If you check in on Friday and won't be diving until Sat., go ahead and pay for your diving then and get your wrist bands. It can get really busy on Sat. and you don't want to waste your time waiting in line again. Sometimes we do a sunrise dive before the shop opens and you don't want to miss one of the best dives of the day!
We have the Turkey Roost area reserved. Most of us will be tent camping. Some though do stay in town at the motel, but you'll miss a lot of the fun...
There isn't electricity where we're camping, but the are several taps with running water and grills. There is electricity at the pavilion
and bathrooms w/showers a short walk away.
Don't forget to bring chairs for around the fire and bug spray if the bugs like you.
No need to make reservations, but sign up on this thread and let us know how many are attending in your party and what you'll be bringing to pitch in for the group dinner and breakfast.
Once a week up until the event, I'll update the food list and who's attending.
Check for the latest list for ideas on what to bring and what's still needed.
So come join us for a weekend of Fun!

Here is a rundown of the weekend...

Friday- All meals will be on your own. Some will go out to dinner; some will cook at the campsite. It's up to you.
Campfire - a little smores, a little music, a little singing, a little drinking(BYOB) or not, keeping it mild in anticipation of the big day of diving on Sat.

Saturday
-

Brekky - MegaOmlettes, group buffet style. Not to be missed...
Lunch- On your own.
Dinner - Group buffet style somewhere around 5:00. Bring something to share..
Let's keep the grill items to hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and chicken breasts.
Galaxy Dive - Around dusk. Not to be missed...
Campfire -a lot of music, a lot of singing, a lot of drinking(BYOB) or not. Just lots of fun! Not to be missed...

We're in. Will bring Rum, eggs, omelet fixin's, omelet bags, Rum, plates, napkins, plasticware.

I was wondering how long before you saw the thread! :rofl3:
Been watching for it  Eager to visit with my new friends. I know I put some stuff on the list but would be helpful (if not too much trouble) maybe post or PM specific needs I can help with (i.e. type of non-toxic bag, etc.) Would an additional fryer help with brekky?

Edit: I think I opened my big mouth about grilling after the last Megadive, so I'll be happy to handle or assist with the Saturday night meat burning. :D

No problem!

We had a ton of Plastic silverware and plates left over from last time, so that won't be needed. If you want to bring the aluminum serving pans instead, that would be great. The bags are the quart freezer bags. I think we'll stick with the 2 friers for breakfast. I think 3 might be 2 much to handle. Thanks anyway!

I'll let you off the hook for the main flame and just let you assist with the meat burning this time. :rofl3:

And you know since your not a noob anymore, you're not required to bring Jenny rum. :rofl3: :rofl3:

Oh, no. This will be Gary-Rum (Kraken), but I am willing to share with my friends.

For all your first-timer Noobs, remember to bring some high-quality, offertory Rum. Or Else .... happens :D
