scratches on a w-20 lense ?

I'm considering purchasing a w-20 lense that apparently has a scratch on it. Will this affect the photos at all? What should I pay for this lense with a scratch on it? I know that a lense without scratches on it is worth about $200-225 used but is this scratched lense worth less? If I buy this lense ..will I have trouble selling it later? Any input would be very appreciated. Thank you
