That poor dock was getting slammed. Looks like those buildings took in a little water too.

We had some medium sized 16 ft swells driven with high winds recently, that turned our beaches into kelp salads. Even found a couple bigger than a softball sized kelp hold fast rocks thrown to the top of stairs. The power of the ocean is always impressive. What also amazed me is how many cans from the 70's showed up on the beach with the old school pull tops. We cleared a lot of washed up plastic debris from our beaches that day too.

Nothing like knee deep kelp filled with flies to wade through. It wound up being a non dive day anyhow due to poor vis.

Well, the creatures seem to have survived OK ... did a shallow tour of the eelgrass beds last night. Found most of the usual suspects ...

Had some big King tides here in the Bay Area that caused lots of flooding in SF and Sausalito/Marin.

What is the little guy below your cannibal crab Bob..he is cool!
(maybe the crabs are having some..fun?)

That's a Pacific spiny lumpsucker ... and those two crabs aren't thinking about dinner. He'll hold her like that till she molts ... then they'll make crabies ...
