Hello All:

Looking for recommendations on dive charters/companies in the Brockville region of Ontario. Planning on doing some diving in the St. Lawrence River the week of July 28th to 31st, 2014.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Islander wreck is on the US side in Alexandria Bay-nice shore dive from back of hospital.

Decided today to head out to Brockville for a few days in August, will probably go with Abucs. They have a really nice shop we used for fills last year, helpful and friendly. Plus they answer emails quickly and detailed. Staying in Dewar's Inn, the Comfort Inn last year was a disaster. From the screaming kid one night to the drunks at 12 and 2am the next....never again.

Mickey give a call to June and Frank at Chalet cabins. Just outside of town on the river. You can get everything from a single person cabin to cabin for 4 or 5 with a kitchenette. They also have grills on the property you can use and a big line to dry your wet stuff. It is not a standard motel more of a mom and pop place so looks are "charming" but you right on the water and can be in town in 5 minutes. info@chaletcabin.ca

Another vote for the Islander.

It's a shore dive and right behind the town of Alexandria Bay. The wreck has seen better days, but you can swim around the corner and see the bottom of the floating restaurant.

You can do a dive, go walk around town, get something to eat, go diving again, play in the arcade, do another dive . . .

If you're lucky, Moe Hunt will open up his fill station across the street from the dive site. It's a first-class, spotless fill station built into the basement of an old building, behind a garage door.

If you are on the Canadian side- you have to go to Dive Tech- in Mallorytown, Ontario, about 5 mins. over bridge-http://www.divetech.ca/index.html . You will be foaming at mouth -they have every scuba need plus multiple fill areas-air,nitrox & trimix.I was there 3 weeks ago and was blown away by size of shop
