Oceanic Datamax Pro plus question

Can you hook up an Oceanic Datamax Pro Plus that came with a quick connect up directly to a HP hose with a spool? I tried it and it works, just wander if there are any potential problems doing it or is it not uncommon to do this. It's a used computer I bought that did not have a hose. I really don't care one way or the other if there is a quick disconnect or not.

As long as the HP spool in properly installed, there is no problem.
