That will work, but I prefer to have mine side slung.
 
Still haven't found a better way to back mount a pony....

Looks good hand made construction. I saw in shop back mount connection was pretty expensive.
Questions: Do I understood correct, that back mount required to start dive with already open valve and no control of remaining air pressure and no access to pony ?

yup, of course you could mount it upside down so you can access the valve and you COULD have an extra pressure gauge and run another hose... but i don't..Also, if you wear the pony octo on a necklace rig, it is unlikely that you will not notice a second stage free flow.
