I'm off to Honolulu the first week of December, probably staying in Waikiki (someone else is in charge of the hotel booking)and welcome any advice on Dive Operations, Sites etc.

I'm meeting up with a friend from Europe who may be interested in learning to dive - so a good Dive School would come in handy as well.

    Thanks in advance
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

Deep Ecology http://www.deepecologyhawaii.com/ gets very high marks both for training & diving.

    These guys are good!

I live in Kauai, but when I am in Oahu, I go with these guys
    Aquazone... http://www.aquazone.net 808-923-dive(3483)

They are located in bottom floor of the Outrigger Waikiki Hotel and also offer certification dives(PADI)

They do some nice boat dives which are reasonably priced...

Very convienant if you are staying in Waikiki

    Jonathan,

Give my close friend (and band mate) Lyle Kleisch a call on his cell at 808-222-1224. He runs the dive operation at the Sheraton Waikiki and a couple of other large hotels. He's a great guy, ex army special forces ranger, and a superior teacher who really enjoys it and has been teaching padi in Hawaii for many years. He's got some cool dives set up that no one else does, including a wreck dive from kayaks that is really cool.

    Aloha,

    Jonathan Starr
