New
Hi,
I am new to these forums, but not new to diving. I was certified way back in 1992 or 1993 in South Florida @ Underseas Sports in Fort Lauderdale. I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved diving in South Florida. Then I came back home to Northern California, Bay Area.
I didn't dive for awhile, but then I got the bug again and bought a wetsuit and tried out the diving in Monterey. Well, I had a good time even though I had to use a ton of lead to get my fat butt to sink due to the thick suit. I did find a UK1200 divelight minus the handle, still have that light too. I eventually obtained my Advanced Open Water certification.
Fast foward a bunch of years, I am still diving, just not as much due to some knee injuries which led to a lot of weight gain. Well, now I've lost about 80 pounds and am still working on losing some more. My knees are doing better so, diving is something that I am looking forward to getting back into.
I work in the Bay Area (Fremont), but I live in Nevada, so I am usually headed home on the weekends. I am hoping to get my girlfriend certified sometime in the future so we can go diving together.
I am also wanting to get into underwater photography. I have a Nikon D800 and a lot of lenses, so I will be frequenting that forum quite a bit to hopefully learn and then purchase a housing so I can get started.
Hope to meet some of you someday
Jon
