Time I said hello to everyone , been lurking around since I got certified last Oct. (read all 26 pages of the Do You Wear Your Snorkel thread , twice!)

Did an intro dive in Roatan , WOW! I just had to get my cert after that. Did consecutive training classes and I now have my OW - AOW - National Geographic cert's (I know, too many certs and not enough dives) I did this partially to be able to have confidence when diving with my friend (she was cert in 94) and to dive more with my outstanding instructor, Ian Martin ... very thorough , and his love for the sea and his enthusiasm, is so contagious. Also the reason I will be taking the Rescue course next month

Thanks for such a great place to get info. from , and to all the people here that supply it

Hey DB, Welcome to ScubaBoard. Don't worry about too many certifications, I myself think it is a very good way to get dive experience. And good for you taking Rescue Diver, I plan on doing that certification next. Check out your buddies in the southern part of our state, they're a pretty active bunch. SoCal

Hello!

I took my AOW right after OW and was so glad that I did. It gave me extra dives with an instructor looking on, a chance to have him nit-pick at my skills so that good form became the habit, and (what I think is really important) a chance to have an instructor work with me on bouancy skills and weight checks even more than he was able to in the open water class. After I completed my advanced class I felt so much more comfortable diving than I did just after the first class. So basically what I'm saying is don't apologize for doing something that makes you more sure of yourself and can only improve your diving skills.

You will love your Rescue class!

Yeah, I'd say doing your AOW & Nitrox right after your begnnger card is a good idea. Ann Marie's suggestions are right on... :thumb:

Now, get out there and dive
