Anyone know when AL40cf began to be manufactured?

If I remember correctly, Cousteau teams were using tripled 40 cu ft (or the metric equivalent) tanks fairly early on. Not sure if they were Al or steel.

they were 30's...carried them recently from the museum:D to the NW Dive show and back...

How cool is that.
So, what were they made of? AL or Steel?
Don't make us go back thru looking for old pics.

These are some of Ryans (Flashback Scuba's) tanks:

The early triples were steel 40's, later ones were aluminum and in some cases titanium.
