I used to say, I was an Eagle Scout. A few years ago I said to myself, "Hey, once an Eagle, always an Eagle." So yes, I am an Eagle Scout. Since September 30, 1970. It's been a good flight--and I am a diving bird as well ;-)

My buddy is an Eagle Scout, but does not post on any forum, anywhere, for any reason. :blinking: He always makes me do it if he needs to know something.

Father of 1 Eagle(20), other son working on last badges and project (15). I will be the scoutmaster as of next summer, have held every other position in pack and troop either officially or un-officially. As for pushing your own son..........DON"T. There are others that he will listen to more, I had to sit by while my son slowly finished his project and paperwork, less than a month before his 18th bday. I had other parents/scouts intervening on my behalf. My other son is more motivated, and wants to get his at age 16 to show his brother up, he already hiked Philmont.

What role on Jambo Staff?

I was on the Food Group that did all the food distribution. We distributed food for about 35,000 to 40,000 campers. The facilities/logistics of the whole thing is actually pretty ineresting. We also managed the cafeterias that fed the staff. (Food prep/cooking was actually contracted out to Marriott Food Services). can't remember how many staffers we fed, but it was in the thousands each day, scattered in about 5 or 8 cafeterias around the base.

Haven't been to a Jamboree since 1989.... (wow... that was 20 years ago next summer)

I'd gladly do Jambo again, but it's just a LONG event to schedule for vacation from work. especially considering we had to be there a week beforehand and the even is two weeks long. I think I was gone for almost a month on that trip.

NOAC is a little better for scheduling as it's only a few days long and working staff on them is I'd guess a week or so total time? (can't remember as I haven't been to a NOAC in a while either).

I really want to hit Philmont again. I wished I'd put in to work there as a youth.
