Eh, well you're making a good decision by not diving again until you get that resolved. Sounds like you need to go see a cardiologist. Although your post makes it sound like you've seen more than one doctor, so perhaps you've already seen one, but I'd get a second opinion if you have indeed already seen a cardiologist. Palpitations are not something to be screwed off since they can cause dysrhythmias which can cause inability to live...I'm surprised the doctors are so disinterested in that. Do you have Kaiser? That'd explain it. :/
My coverage is worse than Kaiser - Canadian Public Health. My GP works at a clinic, so I can wait to see him or see whoever is on call at the moment. I've had an ECG, a Holter test, a treadmill test, and blood tests done. These are pre-requisite tests for seeing a cardiologist (and I'd have to fly to see an electrophysiologist).
I'm fully aware that when the main pump fails, the whole system goes offline very quickly. That's why I'm taking it seriously and not diving. If I have to sell all my dive gear, it's a lot better than my wife selling it. She wouldn't know what to get for it.
I think the problem is that I don't have any of the risk factors, so there isn't an easy answer for them to hand out. They've gone away, too, so it's an intermittent problem. (On the first day, I was getting 20-30 a minute! It was about 2 days after a rough dive, too.)
But yeah, it's been a few long, dry months. My goal for this year was to get in 12 dives; I didn't make it. I did surpass my fitness goal, though.
