Greetings Masters of Swampiness, has anyone been to CSSP in the past 2 weeks?

Looking for any updated water temps.

Thanks!

This past Sunday it was 71 down to 17ffw, then started dropping. At 35ffw I showed 61.

Thanks Firefyter!, doesn't appear to be any change since the 9th. i was hoping for about 7-8 degree increase. Sounds like the 5mm, hood and gloves for a while longer

Dove today as a matter of fact. 61F at 45'. 3mm merino lined, 5mm hood and gloves were barely adequate at depth. Above 30' it was fine.

While the surface may be warmer, it doesn't sound like the platform depth has come up much since last weekend. Last weekend I showed 60 at the ST platform, with thermocline right at 20'.

OK - there was a massive storm at CSSP Friday night. Luckily I was snug and dry in the hands of a very competent Eagle Scout :) But it raised the thermocline above the platforms and I was numb at 23 feet. I almost couldnt feel my lips! I didnt want to look to see just exactly how cold it was, but I froze. We had done a night dive on Friday night and the thermocline was down below the platfarms. The torrential rain had an impact on Sunday's dives.

Well, at least you got some good dives in! Being in a tent in the rain sure does suck though. :shakehead: It was nice and dry in our cozy pop-up hotel in Daingerfield. Beautiful park, beautiful weather. Didn't dive, but we did have a good time with the canoe, and paddleboat. FYI, paddleboats are not relaxing.:D Well, if you get your kids to pedal they kind of are.:blinking:

....of the woods, that is...:D D'feild gets cold quick and is only about 30' at it's deep, dark, cold, spring fed depths, but has decent vis at times. It's fun to cruise around @ 10-15' and fish watch, or treasure hunt under the swim platform. We boated on Lake of the Pines Friday and were T-ballin' with the grandson all day Saturday, was a nice weekend.

We were out on Saturday and noticed that throughout the day the thermocline seemed to be moving up. Started around 22ish but later in the day it seemed more like 18ish. Either way I didn't care since it was the first time we have been able to get out since October. Plus it was a great day spent with Foo2 and Fooman2! And we lucked out...no rain until well after we had packed up and headed out.

Kory still wants to try diving it, it's a pretty park, we'll definitely be back. We'll let you know next time we're headed out, maybe you could dive it with us. Cold and dark doesn't usually bother me too much, as long as it's not Texoma.
