Will the SS do something just as stupid in the name of ratings with the Ady Gill's replacement?

So, you have looked at the most recent YouTube videos linked by cdreamer and still feel the Ady Gil, idling over half a mile away from the Shonan Maru 2, stupidly put themselves in the other vessel's unavoidable path in the name of ratings?

Don't let the fact that the AG might actually be the victim of malicious ramming sway your bias in any way. :coffee:

They chose to sit there. They chose to not get the heck out of the way. Maybe they were rammed on purpose but that does not mean it was unavoidable.

They deserve it either way.. That idiot leader needs to be in prison. Get your heads out of your butts people. I dont think one person on here likes whaling, but this Paul guy is nothing but a criminal, and a dumb one at that. Half a mile, I like the last 15ft that shows the damn boat accelerating into the whaler.

Well who had the onus to avoid? If the smaller craft with the right of way makes an unexpected move they lose the right of way status; The Shonan Maru Captain's aggressive actions resulted in the ramming and destruction of the Ady Gil, yet you "blame" the Ady Gil crew?

If this had happened as speculated by the whale hunt defenders for over 300 posts (in the act of harassing) then your statements might be valid, but the AG was not actively harassing when the obvious assault happened. :idk:
 
Nope, look back farther. Watch the wake. It looks like the whaler made a long turn to port to come alongside the Ady Gil. Then a wave caught them and jerked the bow to starboard.

We have a absolute rule on the Spree. You will approach no vessel or object within 1/2 mile unless you receive radio clearance first, or slow to idle speed. We learned the lesson the hard way. Wasn't the Spree that hit another vessel, but someone close to us.

to the left is port to the right is starboard!
The Ady Gil is off the staboard side of the whaler!

Don't let your love of all your previous statements in this thread justify stupidity.

The reason no one has charged SS with criminal behavior that could result in punishment for actions in this many years long "battle" is only a few loonies and one loony country support the behavior of these whalers.

As I have said before, if they only took adult minke's beyond reproductive age in their own water for the true demand by their own citizens I have no real argument against their whaling, but since they chose to act like they can do what ever they feel is right in this far off place it would seem only right that SS can also act like they can do what ever they feel is right.

I fail to see that the SS have really endangered lives of the whalers, where as now it is obvious the whalers have endangered lives of SS crew. All that remains to be seen is if anybody with power and authority really cares about two entities behaving this way in that far off place.

As nearly always, I commend Captain Paul Watson for standing up to an entire National Government when no one else has the balls to do anything of substance.

The only thing I really blame the crew of the Ady Gil for is for being absolutely brain dead for not getting out of the way of the really big ship that was coming at them. I do not care who is legally or even morally right or wrong at this point. The captain (maybe not the entire crew) should have seen the really big ship and said "Oh **** that thing is gonna hit us if I do not move quickly"

Was he right or wrong? It means little to me because I still think he was stupid and did not do what he should have. The incident was avoidable had the captain of the Ady Gil used his brain quicker and got out of the way.

I agree they do not appear to have been aggrivating then whaler at the time of the crash. Maybe they were busy saying "OK guys here comes our moment of glory!! Hold on tight!! This is gonna be huge and be all over the internet!!! We are going to wait until the last second and the race clear so it looks like we could have died!!! Oh ****!! I started too late!!! Brace for impact!!!"

Just a possibility made up by my wacky brain.

Rule 7 Risk of collission
a) every vessel shall use all available means appropriate to the prevailing circumstances and conditions to determine if risk of collision exists. if in doubt risk of collision shall be deemed to exist

Rule 8 Action to avoid collision
a)any action taken to avoid collision shall be positive, made in ample time and with regard to the observance of good seaman ship

There are other sub parts in each rule to determine who is the give way vessel and the action they should take.

You need HELP!! The guy is wanted and will be arrested on sight in at least one country and charges pending in another.. They are no better than terrorist.. Wake up :dork2:.. Bet you believe in global warming too.
