So you are saying that the hazing of earlier in the day is justification for the "at that time" unprovoked attack by the 'Maru?

An attack that perhaps did not intend to make contact but without which contact would have never been made?

And the AG crew who are just kicking back in their not long ago safe part of a big body of water are the ones whose stupidity is to blame?

Yes!!! You finally get it.. They were to blame, should have left the ship ALONE!!! Play with the bull, you get the horns. They are STUPID!!! :D

I'm sure the SS would leave them alone, if they would just leave the whales alone! For many, many years the vast majority of humans and nations have been counseling/asking/telling the Japanese to quit this farce of whale research but no, they just continue as they please, so it seems to me that the stupidity of the Japanese to continue this farce when their own people are not even that interested in eating whale meat is the root stupidity.

It remains to be seen what level of Japanese stupidity will finally result in them having to commit seppuku on this whaling issue. :eyebrow:

An American lecturing another the citizens of another sovereign nation on stupidity and arrogance to do as it pleases.... priceless.

Iraq much?
Israel much?
Kyoto much?

I think you'll find that "stupid" American foreign policy - in the face of world opinion - has caused tens of thousands of human deaths but let's not worry too much about these those Muslims or Afghans shall we? Let's worry about a few hundred whales in a population of hundreds of thousands.

Sort your own house out before trying to claim the moral right to lecture other sovereign state to stop its own - legal - activities.

Now you seem to be acting like a politician; a tried and true way to not lose an argument is to change the subject and try to cause a fire storm about some totally unrelated $h!t.

I was just exposing the hypocrisy. Most rational people think killing people is a greater crime than killing whales.

How about the fact that your first post in this thread has now been shown to be completely wrong; the "research" vessel deliberately attacked the AG and due to their negligence the collision occurred.

Maybe shown to be wrong in your mind. I stand by what I wrote - there is no way on the seven seas a 500 tonne trawler can ram a fibre glass racing boat (fastest circumnavigation of the world) if the racing boat isn't too close.

I suspect this whole set up was for the camera's. If Sea Shepherd are so confident why don't they release the whole footage they have of the hours and minutes PRECEEDING the incident?

We've seen the video footage that shows "Captain" Paul Watson to be lying through his teeth - the Ady Gil was clearly not dead in the water, and as he is a consistent liar (remember getting "shot" last year? lol) I have no reason to believe anything else he says either.

We've seen the footage of the Ady Gil passing dangerously close in front of the trawler earlier in the day, trying to snag it's prop.

We've seen video footage proving Sea Shepherd has engineered collisions in the past.

We're seen experienced captains say the Ady Gil is at fault.

It sure is a good thing we can keep personal issues out of this and keep it all about the dumbasses that put the boat in harms way in front of a Japanese whaler. That is the fun topic....stupidity. That and diving not only the AG and now a helicopter.....awesome.

That is actually an opinion, like a lot of posts in this thread and so many others. I think the one fact relating to the latest collision is that if games of brinkmanship and sabotage had not been taking place, no contact would have ever happened in such a remote part of the sea. Part of their doctrine is to ram and disable these ships. Can you really blame a Japanese Captain for possibly trying to scare them back prior to their next run at disabling their ship?

In my opinion, the parties who are negligent are the ones that are only out there for one purpose - to harass, damage and disturb other vessels.

You can hate them for whaling but that isn't the point when it comes to why this boat sank. Who's to blame? Clearly (IMO) the aggressors.

Now you seem to be acting like a politician; a tried and true way to not lose an argument is to change the subject and try to cause a fire storm about some totally unrelated $h!t.

You're the one invoking the self-proclaimed "vast majority of nations and humans" as being on your side. I'm just astounded an American can have the audacity to say that when they routinely trample over the wishes of the rest of the world on far more serious matters than whaling.

I guess you don't want people pointing out the sheer ridiculousness of your position.

So you are saying that looking at the video posted today, from the AG, you can not see that the "research" ship swung port off it's original course, then starboard to bear down on the at idle AG, then either turned starboard again or was jerked starboard by swell, where upon the AG lunges forward at about the same time as the attacking vessel turns back port making contact with the AB bow?

You accuse me of not dealing with the facts and yet most of what you have posted today concerns stuff that happened way in the past? A real man knows when to admit he may have been hasty in making what are now pretty obviously false accusations!

You sure your not a female? You quoted about 10 things and left the above as your reply.. And tell us were changing the subject.. Subject with me and most others is STUPID people and well, you keep defending them..Bottom line is, small boat loses to big boat every time. ONLY a STUPID peson would sit and wait for said big boat to get there and run them over. Now we have a new dive site.. We all win :D

The aggressors in the event that caused the sinking of the AG were the whalers! Cling to your misguided statements of yesterday all you want, The video shows a non aggressive, at idle AG and a deliberate series of course changes by the 'Maru that facilitated the close approach and instigated the collision. All any of your blustering here is going to do is be really embarrassing for you when the official report is published!

ONLY a STUPID person

By the way Kev, I fixed your stupid spelling mistake

Now a toast to the crew of the AG

Since most of the participants to this discussion have left and only childlike blather remains I will take a break and return later when hopefully a few adults are able to carry on a conversation.

Congratulations to all the educated SB members I have encountered today, you have really shown the reason for your reputations both here and probably in the real world!
