Is Gilboa iced over or is it clear? I'm just curious. My drysuit is in the shop. I certainly won't be diving locally until I get it back.

Hi Jim, Someone (I think Cam) posted that Gilboa was only open out towards the middle and that for all intents and purposes, it's under ice. As soon as daytime temps. start to show above the 32 mark, I'm ready. I would like to get a few in before Spring M&G. I got my regs in for service right now.

I'm with ya Denny. I can handle cold water, but I have no interest in diving when the air temps are below freezing. Kudos and all that to those that do, but it for sure ain't my thing.

Hey all:

There is a possibility my daughter might be coming with me to M&G (not sure yet...I'm only thinking about it and I'm already scared...but hey...can't protect your kids forever, right?)

Anyway, I am thinking of buying her a drysuit...but don't want to spend the money yet.

Does anyone have a medium sized drysuit they aren't using (she is 5'8" with a size 9 woman's shoe). I'd love for her to be able to try out a dive or two in a dry suit to see what she thinks.

On a side note...she knows how to keep a secret, so she'll uphold the tradition of "what happens at the M&G stays at the M&G...

Thanks;

John

I have a couple Dive Rite 905 front zip size small with 8/9 boots. I'm 5'7 170#, she can use one if they fit her.

I would appreciate it. I'll PM you with more details.

Unless the dry-suit fairy pays me an unexpected visit sometime soon, I will be diving wet if I attend (which I hope to do)…. In order to properly prepare myself mentally, does anyone have any idea what kind of water temps we can expect in late April ??

Cold :D

40-45F. I did it in April of last year in my 7 mil. I was chilled but not too bad. Plus we had 80F air temps and lots of sun. My feet got cold the most though. Wear neoprene socks or boots thicker than 3 mil.

Hope you can make it Steve. I will be there for the weekend. Its lots of fun and the quarry is pretty neat as well.

What??? Brrr!

My dive computer has 43 and 45 for my dives last year but I did not go to the tubes which I was told were at around 38.

Air temps though were outstanding and made the weekend very pleasurable.
