BTW I loved how when Ryan Miller's name was announced the stadium started cheering. Was great to see respect given like that.

Hell yeah!! Miller was awesome!!! Both teams played friggin' great hockey, and it was a nail-biter to the finish. You just can't deny that Miller is a helluva goaltender!!!

We did win the Olympics. 14 Gold medals. Silver and Bronze don't mean much.

Well if you do the "Gold is 3, Silver is 2, and Bronze is 1" then US had 70 points and Canada had 61 points. Even changing that to 5/3/1 still has the US ahead.

But it was a great olympics even after a tragic start.

The real secret is that they have winter 9 months a year up there.. and get lots of time to practice sliding :blinking:

Congratulations Canada and thank you for hosting a great Olympics, you done good! All Canadians should really be proud. We could have done without the giant inflatable beavers on the closing cermonies, but what they hey? And you got the 4th leg of the torch lit at the end.

Yeah, lets see, this whole Olympic games where about Canada having "home field" advantage. They built insanely difficult courses for many of the sports, and at least twice had to make course changes because of safety. Then they limited the use of the facilities to outside athletes. If we can't beat them, lets try to kill them. Oh wait, they did kill one All that for only 3 sliding sports medals.

The US hockey was the best team in the tournament. We just beat Canada on the wrong night. Both teams where 5-1, it could have gone either way. And for Hockey to be such a Canadian sport there are only 6 out of 30 NHL teams in Canada.

So congrats to Canada, enjoy the hockey gold, we will take our 37 medals home, the real winners of the Olympics.

The rest of us Americans will apologize for fppf. You gotta give him a break, he's from Buffalo, the only claim to fame they have is inventing chicken wings and they are still bitter over 4 failed Jim Kelly super bowls in a row.
