Don't worry too much about what you forget. Mega and Chedraui have just about everything - from clothes, meds, toiletries, snacks, electronics........

Was down last week, and my checked bag never made it. The only things I missed were my fins and the gifts I'd brought to folks I love.

So zip your bag, have a cerveza, and look forward to the fun you're going to have!

Tell Tony hello from his cyber-pal PelagicSal - and that I have missed him on Twitter!!

It met me back at baggage claim in Atlanta when I arrived home. I asked it how its vacation in Cancun was!
Thanks for asking!

Extra batteries for your dive computer. Mine uses the round ones, about the size of a quarter, don't know the number right off hand. Anyway, a couple summers ago the battery went dead, I went to every dive shop on the island, along with every other place I could think of. NOBODY had them. I would up going without and tagging along on my daughter's computer. Other than that, I agree with the other posts, you can get pretty much anything that you might need (or lose).

One week from today for us!!! OH YEAH!!!!!

Nice attitude, but I like to have my gear to dive. I'm curious...
Which airline?

Why couldn't they find it in this day of computer tracking?

Did they authorize a daily allowance, a spending amount that they would reimburse for needed purchases and rentals?

Back to the OP's original question.....

I agree about batteries, we use rechargeables but take an extra set so we can just replace them while the other set is charging (during dinner or while we are taking showers, changing clothes, etc) Take a camera, even if it is only a topside one! You really want photos of your trip.

Take more than 1 swimsuit, too. I usually take 3, one to wear in morning on dives and a dry one to switch to during lunch. Then I leave yesterday's suit drying on the balcony or in shower area (it takes longer for things to dry in the humidity!)

And as mentioned already, the Chedraui has everything... it is like a Walmart. We go there the first day (walking distance from SCC) and get beer & sodas for our room fridge, and also a styrofoam cooler to use as a rinse tank in our room for our underwater camera gear. :D You can get beachtowels, t-shirts, food, sunscreen and bugspray there if you forgot them.

Either your dive computer uses an unusual battery or you didn't look in the right places. I have bought dive computer batteries (round flat ones about the size of a quarter - CR2036, maybe?) more than once on Cozumel and the first time was at least five years ago. But batteries are more expensive on Cozumel; I bring lots of C, D, and AA alkalines with me for dive lights and such. Any I have left at the end of the trip I give to the dive op.

Yeah Gordon...you're right. Those batteries (I'm thinking CR2032??) are easy to find and are in fact cheaper than in the USA (unlike the others you mentioned).......I'm surprised the dive shops didn't point "newgentry" in the right direction. I always found them at the Kodak Omega stores OR a sure bet was always in that kind of "tent city" market type place on Juarez between avenidas 20 and 25 on the north side of the street....first spot on the right as you walk in always had them right on the wall.........just a little FYI, in case someone else needs them!.........Betsy

I buy CR2032 in bulk (dealextreme.com if you don't mind waiting a few weeks for delivery) and at least a 36 pack of AAs and AAAs. I have a lot of rechargables here at home but found it is general a waste to take them. As for the rest of my gear? Well, let's just say Delta allows two checked bags and a carry on and I weigh everything at home before risking it at the airport.
oh, I have found a folding two-wheeler (dolly whatever you call them) stashed in the top of my foot locker works great. As soon as you grab the footlocker pull out the dolly, unfold it and throw everything on top. Works great for hauling at least 90lbs of vacation related junk through the airport.
