Also, we've stayed in hotels in CZM before where they have complained about us hanging wetsuits on the balcony railing.
Bummer! :shocked2: Which ones? Warn people!

FWIW, outside of each room at SCC is a rack with hangers for your wetsuits, etc. No problem with stuff on the balconies, either!

Perfect : )

A couple of years ago we stayed at Park Royal and they sent someone up to our room to tell us we couldn't hang wetsuits from the balcony......we haven't stayed there since and didn't really like the place anyway. Also, getting a good nights rest there was a challenge.....lots of excessive noise from drunk guests, after repeated failed attempts of staff to get some common courtesy from guest we demanded to be moved......our new room was only slightly better.

Just a quick FYI for anyone interested, I was able to find a package for SCC that wrapped in airfare through Continental airlines. I'm looking forward to trying SCC later this summer or early fall.

yes, the Continental deals are through Caradonna travel (there is a footnote about it on the Continental dive travel page).

you will love SCC, no loud guests as everyone dives and is in bed by 10pm each night. In fact, we found it to be pretty darned quiet around 8-9pm. Some people go down to bar and have drinks out by waterfront, but that's about it.

Thanks Robin! Can't wait to get back there and try out SCC.

SCC looks like a nice place, good location. Hoping to stay there, but a little pricey compared to Blue Angel, where I just stayed. Do you know if they do packages that don't include dinner? I would rather eat dinner around town...

Yes, they offer what they call thier 'light plan', it is without the meals. Somewhere earlier in this thread someone broke down the savings........seems it was minimal.

Boy, I have looked all over the Continental.com site to no avail. Finding packages with Casa del Mar was easy, but not competitive with Orbitz and 200entertain discount.

Finding it on the Caradonna wasn't too hard. Comparing complete packages there with CDC wasn't possible tho; have to file a request.

They do. I don't remember the discount, but it wasn't much I don't think. They're not that much more than BA tho.
I looked at SCC thru Caradonna for my dates (8/21-28) out of Amarillo = $1439.34 AI. Was that 2 boat tanks/day?

Blue Angel: $400 plane + $650 with 5 days diving + taxes = about $1115 - so with extra diving and all meals, SCC is some but not a lot higher, huh?

Or back to the original question of vs CDM: Air and hotel with Orbitz discount $541 + 6 days 2-tanks for about $400 = $941 plus food from the $71/day difference. Might include breakfasts?
I went with a different hotel and operator, 7 nights private room, 5 days diving, one day away. But all three of the above look like good choices for the money, depending on personal preferences.

I'm booked with CDM in November and I e-mailed them to get the price for breakfast included, it was $5.50 a day.
