DIR / DIR Curious Shore Dive Event - October 9th - Heisler (Laguna)

I've actually been wanting to explore and understand more about DIR for some time now. I used to dive with some DIR divers a couple of years ago, but I haven't dived with them in ages. The only DIR divers I see these days are on boats, and I don't know them (and don't want to bug them with a bunch of questions). So this is very much appreciated.

I also have been wanting to dive in Laguna, but have never had the opportunity. So this will be great for me on several levels!

I do have one question about Laguna...is there diving below Crescent Bay Point Park? I'm asking because my husband and I got married there at the little park 25 years ago. I'll never forget all the seals barking out on the rock there as we were saying our vows. If we're going to be hanging out at Heisler, is it possible to dive off Crescent Bay Point from there? Just wondering. I think it would be cool to dive there, and look up and see that special spot, some 25 years later.

That would be quite a surface swim. Your best bet would be to park up a road a bit (circle way is where we park for Deadman's Reef, a site right off Crescent Bay Point).

I am very interested in this event! Thanks for planning it. It sounds like a good time! I will chat with my wife and see if she is interested in passing off our 2 yr old so we can each do one dive. We might be able to bring a friend to do some baby sitting while we dive.

I used to dive with DIR folk in the NYC area a lot and came close to taking a class a few times but then life happened, lol.
