still no lead on the missing gears, the incident happened last Saturday (feb 12) night when a fellow diver forgot to unload them from the trunk of the taxi, the cab driver was not kind enough to bring it back.

just in case you guys run over them, please let me know..

thanks

Scan the local shops, as well as Sulit.com.ph and ebay.ph. When I first saw this, I was initially worried that the kit was taken from a resort. That would've set a bad precedent. Does the diver remember some details about the taxi cab? Was it a metered ride with a receipt given?

Hi Doc,

My friend was not able to get the taxi details or any receipt, they were in such hurry since it was raining heavily that night.

Thanks for the heads up on the trading forums, i will check on it.

Arthur

Did you try contacting the local police and/or Brgy rep?
Contact the taxi companies?

Chances are that this gear is sat in the Taxi driver's house, or the taxi office... and they haven't got a clue how to track down the passenger.

Where did the taxi pick-up/drop-off at? Did you contact those locations?

Hi Andy,

Yes we already did those things, all of the taxi company offices and garage has been checked and we also have a police blotter but no positive result. every piece of equipment is labeled with my name (sticker) and the plastic barrel that i use as container carries my name, email ad and the phone number of the dive shop i dive with, i even have it broadcast on local TV and FM stations but still no luck.

my best hope is he mistakenly sell it to somebody or facility i have alerted.

Ok... sorry to hear that.

As Ed says, Sulit is a busy online resale site. Might also be worth checking Ebay.ph and Craigslist.ph also. There's very little scuba stuff sold on those - so it should stand out like a sore thumb if someone tries.

I'll keep my eye open up here in Manila..

There's a craigslist.ph? Sweeeeet! but... on-topic. there's also Ayosdito.ph.

Really sorry to hear about your gear. Did you lend it to your friend? Can't he give any more small detail about the cab? My car once got hit by a cab. Lucky for me, a witness could give a partial plate number. And for some reason, the person at the LTO was a bit helpful that day... Found the cab company. I was so tempted to stab some tires...

@ Doc,

All he can remember is the taxi has no radio com (its probably a small operator or some call it individual taxi, makes it more difficult for us).

@ Andy

Thank you so much fir the inputs, i hope i can get t back soon.

toy, not to add injury, BUT WHO IS THIS FRIEND OF YOURS??? remind me to give him/her a big whack on the face if I ever get the chance!
