Another suggestion... recast the battery door with an attachment for a bolt snap. Advantage is it would be backwards compatible and it could be a nice option for those looking for said attachment point (such as myself).

I did find an acceptable place to tie off the Cobalt to my Zuma. I used one of these:

Removed the split ring from the connector. I then used a bit of Cold Shrink tape on the right side of bar across the top. I then used a Ty-Rap so it would snug up the connector very close to the top bar. The Cold Shrink keeps the connector from sliding on the top bar.

Not sure how long the retractor will last (never used one before) but so far it works pretty well. I route the unit under my left arm and the Gear Keeper is pinned to the left chest strap right where it meets the shoulder strap. The angled bar allows the connector to be angled at about 45 degrees pointing up so it hangs on my chest fairly well.

OT: "hose protector" AKA salt collector AKA problem hider

I often wonder why these are on regs I buy and why my regs have come back from servicing with these on aside from a way to slap someones label on my gear.

Im off to do IDC and IE in Egypt at the end of this month, any chance at all that the software will be available by then or should we just stop asking?

Every day/week/month/season that goes by our chances only get better!

I'm just hoping it happens before I go to Belize in June. :shakehead:

Once software starts getting delayed over and over it is usually something in the foundation that isn't working. If it was in the high level stuff they would have likely released it as those bugs are generally superficial. My guess is there are stability issues but I am completely speculating.

Looks like Dive Log (commercial software) and the open source drivers are very close and probably just waiting for the USB driver to be officially released.

Is that what they are going to use??? Dive Log???

If that is the case then I can start converting my old logs now and that puts a lot less pressure on when the link becomes available.

It is mid March and raining today   Means hard water is going away here in the great north and soft water is comming real soon. Sure would be nice to have my equiptment list and old logs converted so I can move my primary to the cobalt and relagate my Vyper Air to backup.

If they are having foundation problems I wish they would say so and remove the 'Comming Soon" banner so I could move on and stop checking every day for an update:depressed:
