I originally thought that Gabe Watson was guilty. However, in September 2010 I found the transcript of the Queensland Police's interview with Gabe. As soon as I read the interview, I knew he was not guilty of murder. The main piece of information that the Police used to insist that he was guilty was that he lied about the computer, so he lied about everything. However, he did not lie about the computer, what he said was not understood by the Police. He clearly stated in my view that it was the transmitter that did not work. Thus the Police's main reasoning was false.

Sorry, but I'm going to repeat myself for the benefit of my friends: This is exactly why one should NEVER talk to the authorities. They may misunderstand you and conclude you are lying. If Watson had kept his mouth shut, they may have suspected him, but they would have had nothing to support a prosecution ... as some prosecutor finally seems to have figured out

Summary: he was guilty of manslaughter by failing to make any real effort to save Tina, but he is not guilty of murder.

Sorry, but I respectfully disagree with the manslaughter bit. I agree he failed to make, what seems to the diving community, a reasonable effort to save Tina. However, how does that equate with proof beyond a reasonable doubt that this failure was the proximate cause of her death?

BTW: I'm having a great time on vacation, albeit internet access is spotty.

...on vacation...internet access is spotty.
That's the good part. :eyebrow:

Watson was so angry he proposed marriage, waited for the wedding, spent several thouasnd on a honeymoon, while plotting to fly 1/2 way around the the world to commit murder by drowning? Exhibits a lot of patience for a very angry man.

Just speculating but yeah - obsession can do that to a person.

yeah why not take the strangest and most unlikely explanation and run with it:idk: I'm honestly doubtful the guy is capable of conceiving and planning something so convoluted never mind carrying it out. Have you listened to him on the interviews?:shocked2:

Remember that until a few days ago in that article, we never knew a timeline regarding Gabe's anger over an alleged affair. All the articles and news reports said was that Gabe was angry over an alleged affair that Tina had and described some of his angry behaviour. For the first time a few days ago, we have read in the latest article that this alleged affair was apparently before Gabe's proposal to Tina.

Proposing after one believes their girlfriend has had an affair and plotting to kill her is a little strange, yes. Of course, you're assuming that the alleged plot hatched prior to the proposal, if that story is even correct. The plot could have hatched at any time prior to the honeymoon.

Is it normal to keep the engagement ring box in view and demand that your girlfriend not look at the ring for 6 months on threat of dissolution of the engagement? And continue to get married?

Is it normal to throw pizza at and verbally berate your fiancee at a restaurant? And still go on to marry her? BTW, I believe Tina's sister said this argument included the alleged affair. And yet they married each other. If Tina's sister's version is true, then Gabe was still angry during the engagement, prior to the wedding.

Gabe and Tina's relationship and engagement appeared to have been very tense and skewed and I'm not sure we can rule out any behaviour as being abnormal or normal in their reality.

And there are the comments by the Minister who did the Pre Marriage Counceling and appears to be friends with the Watsons who implied that Tina's relationship with her family was strained. It seems to me he indicated that she would say she had other commitments to avoid spending time with them:idk: He seemed to describe a different relationship completely from what Tina's family is describing:shocked2: Biases are influencing people on both sides no doubt so who do we assume is able to present what is closest to reality?
